Ava

Ava

Ava is 13 years old and attends a private school. She is currently in the 8th grade. She was diagnosed with dyslexia and ADD in the second grade. She loves math and is quite good at it. She has always struggled with reading and writing but she is constantly trying to improve and overcome her challenges. She swims competitively and dances year round. She loves to cook and though she struggles with reading she has still found a way to love books and stories by listening to audio books. She is constantly trying to show people that she is much more than her dyslexia. This is her 2nd year as a YES! Ambassador.

Brayden

Brayden

Brayden is currently a junior at a public high school. He recently attended a private and a charter school. He is a guitar and trombone player. He is an athlete, playing water polo, swimming, and playing soccer. He enjoys biking, swimming, and running. He is currently an honor roll student. His future plans include college and going into law enforcement or the automotive industry.

Jefferson

Brayden

Jefferson is a 15 year old Freshman at a charter school. This is his second year as a YES! Ambassador. He is excited to work with everyone this year. Jefferson has been diagnosed with Dyslexia and Dysgraphia. After many years of hard work, tutoring and struggle, he is now thriving in school. He has set a goal to be on honor roll this year and is on track so far! Outside of school, Jefferson loves singing, acting dancing and spending time with friends and family. He is a talented artist and loves drawing. He plans to study architectural design in college.

Lindsey

Brayden

Lindsey is 13 years old and attends 8th grade at a public school. Lindsey loves sports and is on both a competitive soccer team and ski team. She also enjoys running, swimming, biking, hiking, camping, art and traveling. Last year, she was on the honor roll at school every quarter. Lindsey learned that she was dyslexic in third grade and worked with a reading tutor for over two years. Now, she loves ear-reading books using Learning Ally on her iPad and belongs to a book club. Lindsey looks forward to her second year as a YES! Ambassador.

Tyler

Tyler

Tyler is a 9th grader attending a public high school. He plays soccer and football like a boss. He is a very athletic person. He can play most sports well including golf, soccer, football, basketball, baseball, and tennis. He enjoys playing with friends, playing outside, and being with his family and friends. He excels at music, including the drums and piano. He was a recipient of the Mayor’s Youth Award in eighth grade.
